Clinical Supervision Philosophy

In good supervision, it's important to focus on helping each person grow and feel important. As a supervisor, my goal is to create a working space where the well-being and independence of my team members are top priorities.

I believe that each person I supervise has unique strengths, experiences, and goals that shape their career. I work together with them, building a relationship based on respect, trust, and understanding. Communication and listening are key in our partnership.

I want those I supervise to take charge of their learning and progress. I encourage them to think about their actions, set goals, and grow on their own terms. While I offer guidance and support, I also respect their independence.

Giving feedback is a big part of how I help others improve. I make sure to give feedback that is helpful, on time, and tailored to each person. I welcome their ideas and work together with them to set learning goals.

I use a development model that considers the changing needs and skills of those I supervise as they progress in their careers. It's important to be flexible and adjust to what each person needs. I understand that everyone learns differently, based on their background and work environment.

By combining a development-focused and person-centered approach to supervision, I want to create a space where everyone feels supported and motivated to do their best. Together, we work towards professional growth, exploration, and success, always respecting each other and striving for excellence.
